Caps Groups

5 min read 777 views

All caps that are over one year old since their publication and have been collected by at least 21 users will be moved to the Non-Validatable section; when they reach 22 users who have marked them, they will move to the corresponding section. The same treatment will be given to caps uploaded to the website that are over one year old.
Exceptions will be made for regional caps, caps already in specific groups, and old caps considered difficult and dated before the year 2000.

ASSOCIATIONS AND CLUBS

Associations, foundations, and sports clubs or those dedicated to other activities.

COMPANIES

Companies in general: Shops, wineries, cellars, butcher shops, perfumeries, supermarkets, etc., except those classified under catering.

CELEBRATIONS, COMMEMORATIVES, FAIRS AND FESTIVALS

Issued on the occasion of celebrations, commemorations, fairs, and festivals.

UNCATALOGUED

– Can be marked.
Caps of undefined origin. Glass and/or tin caps with manufacturer or maker’s mark.

OFFICIAL

Caps issued by official bodies, whether national, regional, or local, but which can be found in considerable quantity in these organizations. This includes Incavi, the Confraternity of Cava, and the Cava Regulatory Council caps.

CATERING

Bars, cafes, restaurants, hotels, and similar establishments.

Due to the proliferation of Catering Caps in recent months, with a very high percentage lacking permission from the restaurant and only receiving a user note stating “this cap does not have the restaurant owner’s permission” (which is considered insufficient), from now on a Catering cap will be moved to Non-Validatable status when the owner sends a claim to xapes.net proving ownership and requesting the change.

SERIES

Includes Tarragona Shields and RBA caps. The latter, if bottled for normal sale before or after their release, will be cataloged under the corresponding category but with information in “others” noting that identical RBA caps exist. These will not be deleted to maintain a complete edition for better information. Due to the proliferation of caps with the same logo and text differing only in print color, editions of three or more caps released in the same year will be reclassified into new series sections.

MEETING SERIES

Series of three or more meeting caps made from the same mold or cliché will be classified in this section.

SPECULATION

Caps issued with supposed intent to speculate.

MEETINGS

Subcatalogued by year. Meeting caps without the year indicated on the cap itself will be included in the subcatalog “meetings” without a year, even if the year is known. Exempt are series of caps (two or more) that form the word “meeting” or “meeting year,” provided these caps refer to and were issued for the same theme, meeting, and day of celebration. Caps issued up to the year 2000 bearing the words “Exhibition,” “Festival,” “Gathering,” or “Fair” and known to correspond to Meetings will be placed under Meeting Caps. If the year is specified, they will be placed accordingly; if not, in the generic Meetings section. This placement will also be respected if the events continue after that year. Meeting caps or other groups bearing a personal name, user nickname, or printed photo will be placed in the celebrations section.

GROUPS

All caps mentioning a group and recognized as belonging to it will be placed in this section, which will take precedence even if the cap might also refer to meetings, celebrations, etc.

To create a group, a minimum of 100 caps is required.
